Types of Scholarships
Scholarships generally fall into 4 categories
International Scholarships
- Often the largest award values
- Open to students from many countries
- Extremelu competetive due to the large number of applicants
National Scholarships
- Available to students across Canada
- Can range from 100's to tens of thousands of dollars
- Competition remains hight
Provinical Scholarships
- Available to students within a specific province
- Fewer applicants than natioinal programs
- May recognize academic, leadership, athletics, trades or commuity involvement
Local Scholarships
- Offered by community organizations, businesses, service clubs, employers, and memorial funds
- Typically have smaller awards amounts
- Often have the best odds of success because the applicant pool is much smaller
