Course changes for the 2026-2027 school year will be open on August 25th, 2026.
Please look at the Master Schedule before requesting a course change. The class you hope to switch to must be available and fit your schedule.
The PROCESS
School Counsellors will review all requests as carefully and efficiently as possible. Requests will generally be reviewed in the order they are received. However, requests involving the following may need to be given priority:
- graduation requirements
- required courses
- post-secondary or program admission requirements
- incomplete schedules
- other significant scheduling needs
A course change can only be made when it works within the school timetable.
Factors such as available space in the class, course conflicts, when a course is offered, and the rest of the student's schedule must all be considered.
For these reasons, not every request can be accommodated.
Counsellors and administrators have already reviewed student course requests and schedules provided since May 2026. In many cases, a student's current schedule may already be the best schedule possible based on their course requests and the available timetable.
How Will I Know If My Schedule Changes?
- Please check your MyEdBC portal regularly:
- Your MyEdBC schedule is your official and most current schedule.
- Until a change appears in MyEdBC, you must continue attending the classes on your current schedule.
- If a requested change can be made, your MyEdBC schedule will be updated.

Important Reminder
- Submitting a course change request does not guarantee that the requested change can be made.
- Please do not ask a teacher directly to add you to their class.
- Course changes must go through the school scheduling process because counsellors need to consider class space, graduation and course requirements, timetable conflicts, and the scheduling needs of other students.se click on the link below to submit your course change request. If the request is not approved you are encouraged to submit the request again as space can open up in courses as other changes are approved.
