Grade 12 Students: Apply for the Loran Award
Grade 12 students are encouraged to consider applying for the 2027 Loran Award, one of Canada’s most significant undergraduate scholarships.
The Loran Award is valued at approximately $150,000 over four years and includes financial support, mentorship, summer experiential learning opportunities, and connection to a national community of scholars and leaders.

Loran looks beyond grades when selecting recipients. The program seeks students who demonstrate character, service, leadership potential, courage, curiosity, and a commitment to making a positive contribution to their communities.
Eligible Grade 12 students must have a minimum cumulative average of 88%, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and be entering university for the first time in September 2027.
The application includes written responses, short essays, video responses, academic information, and a reference.
Start Early
Students interested in applying should begin their application now and contact their referee as soon as possible. All components of the application must be submitted by the deadline, and late applications are not accepted.
